Register your apartment building for ARENA-backed EV charging
ReadySteadyPlug is rolling out managed EV charging in apartment and strata buildings, supported by $1.51 million in funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency under the Australian Government's Driving the Nation Program.
If you live in an apartment and want to charge at home, here is how it works and how to get your building assessed.
Backed By Driving the Nation Program
ReadySteadyPlug has received $1.51 million in funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) under the Australian Government's Driving the Nation Program.
For your building, this means two things. The model has been assessed and backed by the national renewable energy agency. And buildings that join the current rollout are part of a funded program designed to make EV charging simpler and more affordable for strata communities.
EV charging the whole apartment building can agree on
When EV charging goes to a vote, most of the people deciding do not own an EV. Our system is built around that. Residents fund their own charge points and pay for their own power, and the building keeps its existing electrical supply.
No switchboard upgrade
Charging with RSP works inside the electrical supply the building already has. We measure your building's real capacity before designing the system rather than assuming it.
Start small, grow later
More residents add charge points as they go electric, at no further cost to the Owners Corporation.
Never overloads the building
Dynamic Load Management keeps total load within the building's supply limit at all times.
Each resident pays their own way
Individually metered and billed. The Owners Corporation is reimbursed for the power used. Residents who do not want a charge point do not pay for the infrastructure, or for the electricity they do not use.
What the system looks like
Secure charging
Standard 15A outlets with controlled access, energy metering, and user billing.
Centralised control
A controller manages charging across the building and prevents electrical overload.
User-Friendly App
Residents track usage and billing. Managers monitor and manage the system remotely.
Getting EV charging into your building
How strata buildings go from initial enquiry to charging.
-
1
Discovery
We get to know your building and confirm what is possible, usually with no switchboard upgrade.
-
2
Design
We design your system and put real numbers on the table, with a fixed quote for your building.
-
3
Approval Your part
Your owners vote it through at the AGM or EGM. This is the one part we need the building on.
-
4
Reservation
Interested residents lock in their charge point and we finalise the configuration.
-
5
Installation
We install, pair the app, set up direct billing and switch it on.
-
6
Growth
New residents join whenever they go electric, at no extra cost to the strata.
Case Studies
Meadowbank, NSW
Multi-level basement charging delivered to 154-lot Meadowbank strata with no Wi-Fi or mobile signal, fully managed at building level.
North Ryde, NSW
EV charging rolled out for a 160-lot North Ryde strata without major upgrades, starting small and designed to scale to full coverage.
What our customers say
"At Kingston Quarter, we were looking for an EV charging solution that was fair to residents, sustainable for our electrical infrastructure, and easy for the strata committee to manage. ReadySteadyPlug delivered exactly that.
What stands out most is how cleanly the system scales. Because of RSP's true end-user-pays model, our expansion comes at no additional cost to the Owners Corporation. Furthermore, the backend energy-monitoring system has been a highly useful tool — it allows us to easily understand our available electrical headroom, actively manage maximum demand, and keep a close eye on related charges.
We are extremely happy with RSP and highly recommend their solution to other strata communities."

Is Your Building a Good Fit?
ReadySteadyPlug is actively rolling out managed EV charging across strata buildings Australia-wide. We're looking for buildings that are ready to move, and we want to make it straightforward to get started.
Our Charging-as-a-Service model means minimal upfront capital cost for the Owners Corporation, no complicated infrastructure, and no ongoing management headaches. If your building is a good fit, we can get things moving quickly.
What we need from your building
To be considered for our current rollout, the following criteria need to be met:
Minimum of 5 charge points to be installed
Strata committee able to review and approve within the next 3 months
Building willing to participate in managed charging, including monitoring to support off-peak and solar-period use
A committee member or strata manager will be the primary point of contact
